The Association has two classes of members, i.e. Ordinary members and Associate members.

Ordinary membership is open to institutions in the insurance industry in West
Africa registered in accordance with the laws of the country in which the company or corporation operates, provided the head office of the company or corporation is situated in West Africa.

Associate membership, on the other hand, is open to any company that is affiliated or associated with WAICA but whose head office is registered in a country outside the list of WAICA member countries.
